1st May 2020 – Auction of Fluid Milk Processing Equipment

Pittsburgh-based auctioneers Harry Davis & Company was established in 1955 and specialises in the food and beverage sector. The firm provides appraisal, auction, consulting and turnkey sales to businesses of all sizes, worldwide. Harry Davis & Company will this April sell machinery and equipment from a fluid milk processing facility, formerly of Saputo, located in Courtenay, British Columbia.

Saputo is amongst the top dairy processing businesses in the world, distributing a large range of cheeses, fluid milk, cream, sour cream, yoghurt, cottage cheese and ice cream mixes across Canada. The company announced the closure of their Courtenay facility in 2019, stating it to be an economic decision, based on operational efficiency.

The online auction opens on the 29th of April and closes on the 1st of May. The assets can be inspected by appointment only. Items featured in the sale include:

Stainless steel silos and processor tanks including 30,000, 10,000 and 8,000 gallon jacketed silos with horizontal agitators and Crepaco 3,000 gallon jacketed processor tank with vertical agitator. APV Gaulin homogenizer. Fillers including: Federal 18-valve rotary bottle/jug filler; Scholle bag-n-box filler; TetraPak top carton fillers. General plant equipment including: jet spray COP trough with pump; Cannon above ground case handling system; Cannon drop casers and case stacker; Fristam and other centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pump, Triclover air valves and fittings; pasteurizer controls; pasteurizer; chart recorders; ink coders. Cleaver Brooks 100 HP natural gas steam boiler; Gardner Denver 40 HP air compressor. Material handling equipment including: Toyota electric forklift; Raymond electric forklift; banding carts.
