Apex Auctions is selling CNC machining and other CNC equipment formerly operated by SKF. The assets come to the market due to the closure of the SKF facility located in Avallon, France.
SKF specialises in the design and manufacture of seals, bearings and lubrication systems for application in a broad range of industries including the aerospace, construction, energy and food and beverage sectors. In 2020 SKF announced the planned consolidation of their operations in France. This included the transfer of manufacturing of slewing bearings away from the SKF plant in Avallon to St-Cyr-sur-Loire.
The online auction of 24 lots of equipment will close on the 25th of May. Equipment featured in the sale includes: Carnaghi AS65 vertical turning and grinding CNC centre, SPMO 3663 vertical lathe, GPM Titan TVB 4500/5250 vertical lathe, Abus 10T single girder crane, Liebherr LS2000 gear hobbing machine, RFH 30S/NC Schiess gear hobbing machine, Carnaghi AC20 CNC vertical lathe with C-axis, Berthiez VGM 200 vertical grinding machine, Liebherr L2000 external gear cutter by Tool Generation, Modul ZFWZ 3150X30/I gear hobbing machine, Dufieux axial CNC drilling machine, Berthiez ROPC 160/180 double spindle grinder, BM225 vertical lathe, EMA CNC induction heat treatment machine for internal and external gearing, DRH5/3200 two-post grinding machine with circular table, Knuth R80 radial drilling machine and Somex radial drilling machine.
