Maynards is selling plastic injection molding equipment, metal stamping equipment, bagging machines and other packaging equipment formerly operated by Meccano. The assets come to the market due to the closure of the Meccano facility in Calais, France following the restructuring of Meccano’s global operations.
Toy maker Meccano was founded in 1898. The firm manufactures construction sets, ranging from basic building kits to complex robotics programming. Kits comprise metal strips and other components – including wheels, axles and plates – connected together using nuts and bolts. Kits have been produced from the Meccano site in Calais for more than 50 years. The facility, with a production area of more than 5,400m², output over 500,000 units per year.
The online auction closes on the 18th of October and features injection molding equipment including Arburg 570 E 2000-800 Golden Edition (electric, 2021), (3) Arburg 470 C 1500-800 Golden Edition (to 2022), Arburg 570 S 1600-400 (2018), (2) Tederic D130 (2018), Krauss Maffei 80-180 CX, Krauss Maffei 65-340 C1/65, with: sprue-picking robots, dryers, localised hoppers, and regrind stations with injection mould machines; (2) Peria 40 DEL and (1) Remiremont PA80T stamping press; sorting, counting and bagging equipment including Prodao automated bagging/ counting line, Hachmang component counting line and Vimco packing line, and much more. The equipment can be previewed by appointment with the auctioneer only.
