22nd & 23rd July 2020 – California Milk Dairy for Auction

Industrial asset liquidation, auction and real estate investment expert Rabin has over 60 years of experience in the field, focusing particularly on the purchase of complete facilities. This July, Rabin in partnership with CRG and Harry Davis & Company will sell the Berkley Farms dairy facility located in Hayward, California.

Dairy producer Berkley Farms has operated in Hayward since 1910. Parent company Dallas based Dean Foods had intended to sell the plant as an ongoing business, allowing production to have continued at the facility, but a buyer could not be found and the site was closed in April. Dean Foods sold the majority of their operations to Dairy Farmers of America as part of Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings which began in November last year.

The online auction will take place on the 22nd and 23rd of July. Inspections are available by appointment only. Items featured in the sale include:

Silo and process blend tanks including: stainless raw storage tanks, aseptic storage tanks and pasteurized storage silos. Pasteurization and evaporation equipment including: APV Crepaco CR-5 HTST systems; Westfalia milk separator; Zimmer multi-effect cream evaporator. Milk filling department including: Federal 36 valve filling line for 10 oz to 32 oz bottles; Federal 26 valve gallon jug filling machines; Lightning model 50 labelers, New Video Jet 1610 & 1650 ink jets. Production support equipment including: CIP Systems for pasteurizing and raw milk receiving; positive displacement and centrifugal pumps; milk testing lab with Foss FT120 Milkoscan and CEM moisture analyzer. Crate handling, palletizing, warehouse and facility equipment.
