Harry Davis & Company, Pittsburgh based auctioneers with expertise in the dairy, food and beverage sectors, will auction the Land O’ Lakes cheese production facility located in Orland, California.
The Land O’ Lakes Dairy Cooperative was founded in 1921 and now has over 1,700 members. The company were the first to sell individually wrapped sticks of butter made from fresh cream. In 2003 Land O’ Lakes introduced a spreadable butter with canola oil, and were the first to commercialise this product in the US at a national scale.
The live, onsite auction will take place on the 26th of February. The assets are available to view on the 25th of February by appointment.
Items featured in the sale include: A large selection of jacketed silos by DCI, Walker and Felmeier; DCT crystallizers; 2014 Tetra Pak 6,000 gallon per hour pasteurizer; whey pasteurizer. Westfalia milk separator and whey separator; processor and starter tanks. Cheese production and whey filtration equipment including: ultra-filtration and reverse-osmosis systems, cheese tables and portable curd auger system; barrel filling, pressing and sealing system; skid-mounted evaporator; CIP and COP systems. Laboratory equipment, dairy receiving equipment and general plant equipment.
