Vancouver-based Ritchie Bros. was established in 1958 and is now one of the largest auctioneers of heavy equipment worldwide. The firm operates from more than 15 countries and over 40 permanent locations. In addition to on-site auctions, Ritchie Bros. provides online auctioneering services. This has been utilised to the full to continue equipment auctions during the current COVID-19 pandemic. In their first online only auction, the firm had more than 23,500 bidders registering from 58 countries. The auction from Ritchie Bros. Edmonton site saw the sale of over 10,700 items with a total gross transactional value in excess of CA$184M.
On the 30th of June Ritchie Bros will sell over 1,900 items from their site in Chehalis, Washington. The online only auction features equipment from the professionally-maintained fleets of Penske and Celadon, and assets from BPCI Earthworks which come to the market following retirement.
