In a public webcast auction on the 22nd of September, PPL Group will sell a printing and handling system for beverage cans. The complete line, which can handle 8, 12 and 20 oz cans, was bought new in 2015 for a cost in excess of £3,000,000. Installed in late 2016, the equipment was never placed into full operation and is currently in storage in Morris, Illinois. The printing and handling line will be sold in two ways – as a complete package and as separate lots – with the sale proceeding with the higher value of the two.
The auction features: SKA Fabrication side by side beverage can de-palletizer/re-palletizer capable of 400 cans per minute; various Sager single-lane and multi-lane table top conveyor modules; Twin City vacuum elevators; International Thermal Systems (ITS) dryer designed for 120 cans per minute and Helical inverter; clean room; printer modular indexing unit; Ricoh 4 station printer; Tonejet 8 station printer; 8 Station over print varnish indexing system; thermal pin ferris wheel oven. Assets are available to preview on the 21st of September.
