13th July 2021 – CNC Gear Machining Equipment Sale

Prestige Equipment was founded in 1990. The firm holds a huge inventory of late model machine tools and specialises in fabricating and metalworking equipment sales, as well as complete manufacturing facilities. Prestige Equipment offers a wide range of services, including liquidations, appraisals and online and onsite auctions. With expertise in used machinery sales, Prestige Equipment is also a distributor of new machinery from Tos-Kurim, CKD-Blansko-OS and Skoda. The firm is selling CNC vertical boring mills, CNC gear grinders, heat treat equipment and other assets from the CNC gear manufacturing and machining facility formerly operated by Merit Gear. The auction takes place in conjunction with Prestige Auctions and Wisconsin Metalworking Inc.

Merit Gear manufactured specialised gearboxes and gearing predominantly for the oil and gas sectors. The closure of the firm was announced in 2019 and the firm’s facility in Antigo, Wisconsin, closed in spring 2020, impacting on 80 jobs.

The live webcast auction will take place on the 13th of July. Pre-auction offers will be accepted. Equipment available in the sale includes: Gear machinery including: Pfauter 1800MM CNC vertical gear hobber, Gleason 3000GMM CNC gear inspection machine, Barber Coleman 16-16 horizontal gear hobbers. Heat treat department including: Pacific Scientific gas fired batch type pusher furnace, Selas Karbo-Matic PKM D-100-ERTNM-S electric furnace. CNC machining and turning equipment including: Mazak QT-35U CNC lathe, 120” New Century VTL-120 CNC vertical boring mill, Mori Seiki SL-7B CNC lathe. Miller and Lincoln welders, Rayson vibratory finishing systems, part washing equipment, inspection equipment and much more. Assets can be viewed on the 12th of July by appointment only.
