Industrial auctioneering specialist and equipment sale Maynards was first established in Vancouver in 1902. The firm has expertise in the liquidation, valuation and financing of industrial assets for clients across multiple industry sectors, with global reach from offices located in the United States, Canada, Germany, UK, China and Japan.

Maynards is selling the complete contents of the former Avara pharmaceutical plant located in South Gloucestershire, UK. Global contract manufacturing organisation Avara specialised in the manufacture of oral solid dose drug products, sterile fill-finish injectable products and integrated packaging. The 100-acre Avlon Works site was previously operated by AstraZenceca who sold it to Avara in 2016. The facility was put up for sale when Avara fell into administration. Maynards real estate partner EDC acquired the plant in December 2020 with plans to develop a logistics and warehousing park on the site.

The site features: two large-scale milling facilities with Hosakawa mills and Matcon bon charging; cGMP large scale laboratory with 10-100L reactor capacity; five large-scale cGMP API plants, with 6-10 m3 reactors, pressure filter, conical and centrifuge drying; biological wastewater treatment facility; four quality, two environmental, six chemistry and one analytical laboratory; site support equipment; warehouse equipment; spares inventory valued at £25M+; workshops; offices; building structures; internal transport; warehousing including cGMP storage with cold chain capability and much, much more.

The sealed bid sale closes on the 31st of December.
