In a series of auctions closing from the 31st of January to the 2nd of February, PPL Auctions is selling a great offering of metalworking assets, including CNC machining equipment, fabrication equipment and boring mills, from Superior Die Set Corporation. Family-owned Superior Die Set Corporation was founded in 1923. The firm manufactures die sets, die plates and parallels, mold plates, mold bases, steel plates and components for application in the plastic injection molding, metal stamping and forging industries. In November 2023 the firm announced the sale of its components division.
The auction comprises three days of sales: A webcast auction on the 31st of January and two timed online auctions, the first closing on the 1st of February and the second closing on the 2nd of February. Equipment featured in the auctions includes: 2020 and 2021 Doosan DBM-2540 3-axis CNC bridge mill and Doosan DBM-2550 3-axis CNC bridge mill (purchased new $1.1MM); 2019 Amada THV 460 CNC duplex milling machine; 2019 Haas VF8/50 vertical machining center; 2020 Hyundai Wia KH63G 4-axis horizontal machining center; (6) 2011 and 2013 Haas VF3YT/50 CNC vertical machining centers; (2) Toshiba Shibaura BP-130.P40 CNC boring mills; (5) Koike Aaronson CNC plasma cutting machines; 2019 Cosen C-1000NC CNC dual column horizontal band saw; 2020 Cosen G320 CNC horizontal band saw; Blanchard rotary surface grinders – 30″ – 120″; 2018 Unison 1500 CNC OD punch grinder; Coreco 1600 degree F model 9617 car bottom heat treat furnace and much more. The assets are located in Oak Creek, Wisconsin and can be inspected between the 29th and 31st of January or by appointment.
